TEPCO, the Japanese utility company responsible for the crisis at the Fukushima nuclear complex, has reportedly been forcing workers to be exposed to dangerous radiation levels without radiation exposure monitors as required by law. Managers hold the radiation detectors for each work group and apparently just write phony numbers for each employee's individual exposure log. Since radioactive material is scattered in widely varying quantities in different areas, using the actual measured exposure level of a foreman to 'fudge' the books is certainly leading to undocumented exposures to workers. This revelation calls into question every single claim that TEPCO is making about "safe" levels of exposure to workers and the public.
